This is the official website of the Gauteng Smallholder Magazine, and it opens up the magazine to smallholders and rural dwellers throughout southern Africa and beyond.

With a distribution of more than 19 000 copies through almost 360 outlets in rural Gauteng and surrounding provinces, the Gauteng Smallholder Magazine is the largest-circulating English language title available in rural Gauteng.

Started in 2000, the magazine keeps readers informed on developments in the province, and also gives good advice on subjects such as land management and maintenance, animal husbandry, horticulture, solar power, waste management, security, machinery and equipment etc.

On this website you will find the pages of recent editions (which you can also download to read at your leisure) as well as an archive of article titles dating back 10 years, and links to websites and documents of interest and value.

* Gauteng is the smallest, and richest, province in South Africa, housing the commercial capital, Johannesburg, and the administrative capital, Pretoria, as well as a number of key industrial towns. It also contains about 25 000 registered agricultural properties, most of them classified as smallholdings.
