A state farm measuring 412ha has become available for a lease of 30 years to an African, Coloured or Indian South African citizen in the Matlosana Local Municipal area near Klerksdorp.
The farm is portion 41 (a portion of portion 40) of the farm Witpoort 394IR. It has previously been used for crop and livestock production, and records of production are available for inspection.
Applicants must have experience in crop and livestock farming or related business management experience, as well as access to capital and finances.
Preference will be given to smallholders or semi-commercial farmers, who must have a registered Brand Mark certificate and working tractor and implements.
Applicants who previously applied for land in the Kenneth Kaunda District and who were unsuccessful, but who meet the criteria, are encouraged to apply.
Public servants may not apply, although their spouses are eligible.
Closing date for applications is next Thursday, 30 September.
Application forms must be collected between 08h00 and 16h30 and submitted to the Dept of Agriculture, Land Reform & Rural Development, PC Pelser Building, Floor 6,cor Anderson and Voortrekker Streets, Klerksdorp.
