Beekeepers countrywide have been invited to enter a honey, mead and related products competition to be held in the Eastern Cape between 8 and 12 March.
Organised by the Mpumi-Koloni Bee Association under the auspices of the Honey Judges’ Guild of SA the competition has a wide variety of entry classes for advanced apiarists and novices alike, including for various honeys, many from identifiable individual plant sources, as well as classes for wax, wax products, packaging, and bee photography.
And there is an extensive competition planned for meads and other honey-related beverages.
Entries close at midnight on 2 March, and competition entry material must be couriered to 16555 Maydene Farm, Mthatha, 509 by 4 March, or delivered by hand by 8 March, to a venue which has still to be decided.
